    Question

While I was in a drum shop in November, I found a Gretsch bebop kit. Since I like bebop kits, I fell in love with it and bought it. While I was tuning the bass drum, I found there was defect in one of the bass drum's wood hoops. The plies of the wood hoop had separated in a small section. I ordered a replacement wood hoop, which is covered under Gretsch's warranty, and two extras.

It has been 9.5 months since the drum shop placed my order. I have contacted the drum shop several times and they say they have contacted Gretsch but Gretsch has not replied back to them with a status of my order. I have e-mailed Gretsch's customer service about an estimated time of arrival but they say that I have to contact the drum shop where I purchased my bebop kit. Do you think that it should take 9.5 months to obtain some bass drum wood hoops? I didn't think it would take this long. Do you have any suggestions on how I might get an estimated time of arrival and/or a status on my order for my bass drum wood hoops? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated since it has been frustrating to not get any feedback regarding my order. Thank you.

It should have been taken care of by now. The drum shop or Gretsch or both have dropped the ball. I'd continue to pester them until you get satisfaction. There's always the Better Business Bureau or one of the David Horowitz style TV?Radio consumer complaint shows. They often get results fast. Good luck,

    Brad

The Be-Bop kit is not made in the US and is directly handled by Kaman Music. Call Kaman Music, they are the distributors for Gretsch and will take care of this problem for you. Here is the number for Mike Mangnotie who should be able to help (800) 262-7826. Let us know what happens. Unfortunatly, Gretsch has the worst customer service out of any type of business I have ever delt with. But the Kaman guys have taken care of situations like this for me in the past.

    Hi Lorenzini,

Thank you very much for your helpful suggestion. My bebop kit is a USA Custom one. I thought the USA Custom series was made in the U.S. Will Kaman Music still handle my situation if the bebop kit is made in the U.S.?

I am almost positive that the USA Maple shells are imported from overseas, and assembled here in the USA, but I could be wrong... In any event, Mike at Kaman will take care of you!

It's the reverse I thought. US Shells, overseas hardware and assembly.
